Our Mission

We’re working together to build a future where everyone belongs and has the power to create long-term change in their communities. We believe our institutions can be reimagined and transformed to benefit all of us, our climate, and the common good.

Our Vision and Aims

We envision a future where true multiracial, multi-ethnic democracy is actualized. A democracy that will center dignity, belonging, and care for people and our planet.

We aim to build a political home and base that can cultivate agile campaigns, projects, and responsive coalitions who will mobilize for pro-democracy generative governance and social action on a local, state, and national level.

Why are we building Generation Common Good?

  • Business-as-usual political organizing and campaigning have created conditions of fracture, toxic polarization, and disempowerment in a critical moment of growing anti-democratic and authoritarian movements. This has kept us from effectively responding to climate emergencies and threats to our democracy. Our social, political, and cultural institutions have been captured by private and corporate interests fomenting mistrust and culture wars, rigging systems, and utilizing historic structural inequality to undermine ecological survival and thriving.

  • We are building Generation Common Good, a formation of everyday leaders ready to take action on justice issues reclaiming education for democracy, climate, and common good. By organizing students, teachers, parents, and alumni to fight for the institution that has the most direct impact on their lives, we will be activating their political will and building their political muscle for all of the fights to come. Such a flexible and skilled volunteer base will prove incredibly valuable for organizing across the progressive movement in key battlegrounds.

To build an organized and committed base, one capable of building political power and moving beyond narrow issues to advocate for a larger agenda, the progressive movement needs a multiracial, multiethnic, and intergenerational coalition built around a positive big-picture vision of the world. We center grassroots organizing solutions that embraces the intersectional analysis that many of us talk about, but which we aren’t executing in practice.

  • •Build a base of 5,000 committed, skilled advocate leaders nationwide who are routinely taking action and leveraging the mobilization of thousands more in their communities.

•Cement partnerships with key national advocates who will provide the strategy and policy acumen our leaders will advance on the grassroots level.

    • Through strategic recruitment, help build a national narrative that multi-racial, intergenerational coalitions are engaged in the 2024 election in defense of common good advocacy and a true multi-racial, multi-ethnic democracy.

•Execute a national positive pressure campaign around the key intersectional priorities of our members and partners during the first 100 days of the 2025 Administration.
